Your vision exam* is covered under your Student Health Insurance Plan. When scheduling your appointment, be sure to have your UHC medical insurance card with you and advise the provider that this benefit is covered under your medical plan. The PPO network is UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus.
Type the school name, choose “find a provider” and then under medical providers, search for “eye exam” or “optometrist”.
*There has been a recent change where Vanderbilt Eye Institute is no longer in network for eye exams.
Academic Vision Care is an additional benefit included in your Student Health Insurance Plan enrollment for contact lenses or glasses purchased through XP Health's online marketplace. You can access the new eyewar benefits by setting up an account. Please note, you must use your Vanderbilt school email address when setting up an account.
Eligible students will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to set up an account to access this benefit.
Mantra Health is available to ALL students enrolled at Vanderbilt University, regardless of enrollment in the Student Health Insurance Plan. Details on your benefits can be accessed on your dedicated CareHub.
